Christina Latrice
Hi, I’m Christina—a labor, birth, and postpartum doula, lactation educator, and private yoga teacher, serving families in NYC.
I am a caretaker by nature. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to nurturing, supporting, and advocating for others. My path into birth and postpartum work has been a gradual unfolding, shaped by education, personal experience, and a lifetime of caring for those around me.
In college, I studied courses in childhood psychology, ethics, and social and political philosophy that deepened my understanding of human development, resilience, and the importance of advocacy. Beyond academics, I found myself naturally stepping into caregiver roles: providing overnight elder care for families, babysitting infants and toddlers well into adulthood, and supporting close relatives in the tender weeks after their babies arrived. At the time, I didn’t realize I was already doing the work of a postpartum doula—I only knew it felt deeply aligned.
My own journey into motherhood clarified my calling. After giving birth to my child, whom I breastfed for 18 months, I experienced firsthand how transformative the right support can be. I was blessed with a strong birth team—my partner and my mother—who intuitively knew when to comfort, when to step in, and when to advocate for me. Their presence shaped my labor experience in profound ways, and I realized how different things might have been without that support.
The postpartum period, however, revealed its own challenges. Even with community, I learned how isolating new parenthood can feel, and how overwhelming the physical, hormonal, and emotional changes can be. I felt the weight of trying to “get it all right” and saw how essential it is to have not only information but also compassionate access to that information and resources.
These experiences deepened my commitment to becoming a doula, lactation educator, and yoga teacher. Today, I offer trauma-informed, heart-centered care to families as they cross the thresholds of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My work is rooted in the belief that every family deserves safety, advocacy, and nurturing support—a sanctuary where they can feel seen, held, and empowered.
